What We Do

Cutting Capabilities

Our CO₂ laser system is the primary tool for non-metals — its 10.6 μm wavelength is absorbed efficiently by plastics, wood, rubber, and composites, producing clean cuts with minimal heat-affected zones.

±0.1mm

Cutting Tolerance

standard; ±0.05mm on rigid plastics on request

Consistent dimensional accuracy on plastics, composites and soft materials. Tighter tolerances achievable on rigid materials like acrylic and PC.

1500×1000 mm

Max Sheet Size

standard non-metal sheet format

Standard sheet formats processed without repositioning. Maximises material yield on large panels.

0.1 – 50mm

Material Thickness

acrylic; varies by material type

From 0.1 mm thin film to 50 mm thick acrylic blocks. Multi-pass cutting for thicker materials maintains edge quality.

Fire-polished

Edge Quality

on clear plastics — optically clear edge

Fire-polished, optically clear edges on acrylic and PC — no sanding needed. Clean kerf on wood, rubber and composites without fraying or delamination.

CO₂ + UV

Laser System

selected per material for optimal cut quality

CO₂ laser (10.6 μm) for organics and most non-metals. UV laser for PI film, thin FR4, and sensitive composites requiring minimal HAZ.

Any 2D

Complex Profiles

including internal holes and lattice patterns

Intricate shapes, internal cutouts, fine lattice patterns, and snap-fit geometry direct from DXF — no dies or jigs required, from 1 piece upward.

Materials

Non-Metals We Cut

30+ non-metal types processed in-house. Each material has different laser absorption, melting point, and fume characteristics — we use the right parameters and fume extraction per material type.

Working with a material not listed here? Send us a sample — we test-cut and confirm feasibility before committing to production. Note: PVC cannot be laser cut due to toxic chlorine gas emission.

Where Non-Metal Cutting is Used

Non-metal laser cutting spans from industrial components to creative installations — the common thread is precision shapes without tooling investment.

Signage & Display

Acrylic Signage & Display Components

Illuminated letters Light guides Display frames

Letters, logo cutouts, light-guide panels, and display frames in clear and coloured acrylic. Fire-polished edges transmit light cleanly for edge-lit illuminated signage without additional finishing.

Electronics & PCB

PCB Singulation & Substrate Cutting

Cover glass
Touchscreen blanks
LCD component

FR4 board outlines, ceramic substrate singulation, and custom panel depanelling. UV laser minimises delamination on thin FR4 and preserves copper layer integrity on fine-pitch boards.

Aerospace & Defence

Carbon Fibre & Composite Parts

Drone frames Aero brackets Composite panels

CFRP drone frames, aerospace brackets, and structural composite parts. Laser cutting eliminates tool wear and delamination from mechanical routing. Precision holes and slots in one pass.

Industrial & Engineering

Gaskets, Seals & Insulation Parts

Rubber gaskets Silicone seals Foam inserts

Rubber and silicone gaskets, neoprene seals, foam insulation pads, and thermal interface material cuts. Any profile from DXF — no die tooling, no MOQ, production-ready from the first piece.

Architecture & Interiors

Decorative Panels & Architectural Models

What Makes Our Non-Metal Cutting Different

Non-metal laser cutting looks straightforward — but fume management, correct laser selection, and parameter tuning per material make the difference between a clean cut and a burned, discoloured, or delaminated part.

Laser Cutting vs Other Non-Metal Cutting Methods

Understand why laser cutting beats die-cutting, CNC routing, and hand cutting for non-metal shapes.

FAQ

Metal Cutting Questions

These are some of the common questions customers ask before sending drawings or requesting quotation.

No. Laser cutting PVC (polyvinyl chloride) releases hydrogen chloride gas — a toxic and corrosive fume that is harmful to operators and damages laser optics. We do not cut PVC under any circumstances. If you are unsure whether your material contains PVC, please check the datasheet or send us a sample for material verification before quoting.

Cast acrylic produces a fire-polished, optically clear edge when laser cut — ideal for illuminated signage, light guides, and display applications. Extruded acrylic produces a slightly frosted, less transparent edge and is more prone to stress cracking during cutting. For applications requiring optically clear edges, always specify cast acrylic. If you’re unsure which type you have, the material datasheet will indicate the manufacturing method.

Yes — this is one of the key advantages of laser over mechanical routing for CFRP. Our CO₂ laser cuts through woven and unidirectional carbon fibre sheet without physical contact, eliminating the tool pressure that causes delamination. Nitrogen purge during cutting prevents resin re-deposition. Practical thickness limit is approximately 5 mm for single-pass cutting; thicker material can be cut in multiple passes. CFRP cutting is conducted under dedicated fume extraction due to carcinogenic carbon dust.

We stock common grades of cast acrylic (clear, white, black in standard thicknesses), MDF, and natural rubber sheet. For polycarbonate, CFRP, engineering foams, and speciality plastics, we can source to your spec or you can supply your own material. If supplying your own, please ship it flat-packed with protection and include your order reference number. For unusual materials, sending a sample first allows us to test-cut and confirm parameters before committing to production.

On 3 mm cast acrylic, we can cut lattice patterns with struts as narrow as 1.5 mm and hole features as small as 1 mm diameter. Thinner acrylic allows finer features — 1 mm acrylic can support 0.5 mm struts. The practical limit depends on material thickness, the mechanical strength of the remaining material, and how the part will be handled. Send us your artwork and we’ll review and advise on minimum feature sizes before cutting.

Yes — and this is exactly where laser cutting is most cost-effective versus die-cutting. We cut PE foam, EVA, PU foam, neoprene, and silicone sheet to any profile from your DXF, with no tooling cost and no minimum quantity. For packaging inserts, provide the 2D outline of the product recess and we’ll cut the foam to fit. Tight tolerances (±0.5 mm on soft foam, ±0.2 mm on rigid foams) are maintained across batches.
